My Story

Although I grew up around livestock, I officially entered the horse world when I began working for the IX Ranch in Montana at age 18. I spent a few seasons on the ranch before moving on to help some family friends with their problem horses. It was soon apparent that working on a ranch hadn’t completely set me up for working with horses.

I sought answers as I encountered problems and discovered Buck Brannaman along with legendary horsemen Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance. I decided to devote my life to becoming a horseman after finding inspiration from these teachers.

After a few years working on a guest ranch in Colorado, I moved to Georgia to work more closely with a mentor. There I studied under Bill Barnes, a 20-year student of Buck Brannaman on a 500-acre cattle and horse ranch. I utilized my prior experience to help manage the ranch while further honing my horsemanship skills and starting my own training business. We also developed an internship program for young people wanting to enter the trade.

In 2022, my friend Joe McDonald and I launched the "On The Move" podcast, driven by our passion for horsemanship and the desire to share others stories and advice, bringing the industry together.

I continue to pursue my education riding with those much better than me and striving to deliver the best horse training experience to my customers.
